Back to School Granola Snack


Back to school season is officially here! No matter what your schooling choice is- we all have to get ready! Supplies, dinners, lunches, schedules and organization is on the tip of everyone’s tongue.

One thing that is the same for all of us – our kids need good snacks! So, today, I am going to share one that is going to be a family favorite at my house this year for sure!

We have made it a point that we are going to be doing some healthier eating. This granola recipe has some yummy sweet things in it- but is still a much better choice then cookies. I especially like this choice for a morning snack for my daughter that is homeschooled– because it is a little healthier!

So, here it is:

Serves: 12 bars
A simple and healthy snack for back to school!
  • 3 cups quick rolled oats
  • ½ cup mini M&Ms
  • ⅔ cup raisins
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup butter, softened at room temperature
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  1. In a large mixing bowl, add all of the ingredients and mix until well-combined.
  2. Transfer to a 9 x 13 pan and using a spatula, press down firmly and evenly.
  3. Bake at 350° for 18 to 20 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
  4. Cool in pan for 30 minutes.
  5. Break into pieces and enjoy!

That is it! Super easy – and actually good for you too. Of course, you can leave out the M&M or raisins based on taste – maybe add chocolate chips even! I think this is going to be a favorite at our house this year for back to school!
