Easter is a time of new beginnings. We are reminded of what Jesus Christ has done for us- how he came, and lived a perfect life. How taught and how he loved. Then, how he was betrayed, beaten, and hung on a cross- all for the remission of our sins. He was burried in the ground, and on the third day, rose victorious over sin, death and hell.
Yes, Easter is a time of new beginnings. It is a time of remembering.
It is s a time of recommitting our hearts. It is a time of remembering all Christ did.
As we head toward Easter, let’s take some time to focus our hearts on prayer and remembering what Christ did and who we are in Christ.
6 Verses to Pray Over Your Easter
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13
As Easter comes, let’s ask God to grow our faith. Yes, that might mean that God has to do some things in our lives where our faith is stretched- but it will also build our trust in Him.
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Philippians 4:4
If ever there is a time to rejoice- it is now! Jesus has conquered sin, death, and hell – and we have so much to rejoice over! Even if we are in a time where this is hard- try to do it anyway, and watch as God works this out in you and through you!
to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:22-24
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning;great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23
These verses help us remember that we have been given a new beginning. Oh, how I need a fresh start, again and again. Use these verses to pray hope and freshness back into your faith this Easter!
Salvation and the Great Commission
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
If nothing else, Easter is a reminder of our great salvation – His love for us- and that we should take that love and salvation and share it with the World!
My prayer is that you will continue to grow closer to God and this Easter will remind you of His great love for you.
