Let’s be honest. Finding joy in the every day of our life- the dishes, the diapers, the homeschooling, the chaotic schedules- it isn’t always easy. We can get to a point where our life feels almost a constant tirade of one mundane task after another. How do we change our perspective?
Joy In Our Daily Life
First, we have to remember that God has placed is right where we are. Yes, this season you are in:
- Single, and waiting on the one God has for you.
- Newly married, waiting on children.
- Mama with littles at home
- Mama with littles and bigs
- Mama who is getting close to empty nest
- Grandma who is helping her children with the grandbabies
- Grandma who wishes the grandbabies were closer
- And so many other seasons…
We have to remember this season is a gift from God. That this season is exactly where He wants you right now. Yet, sometimes, our daily life can feel mundane. We need to remember that God has not given us a mundane life- He has given us the life He wants us to invest in.
We need to quit getting caught up in the tasks that we are doing and start thinking about them as directives from the King of King.
When we change our focus from the task to the one who has been glorified in our job well done- we will rekindle some of the joy in our day to day.
Second, we need to stay organized. Organization is a key to keeping joy in our daily lives. I find joy when I mark something complete off of my to-do list. I find joy when I know that I have completed the task that I set out to do for the day. When we keep our day organized, we will be able to fit more time in for spending time with the kids, more time for spending time with our husband- and of course, more time to spend time with God. We will also have more time to spend allowing yourself to get rejuvenated. This is key in keeping joy – making sure we focus on the Word of God and take a moment to breathe.
Lastly, we need to keep a perspective on our blessings. So many are wishing they were in the next season. We are quick to rush away our lives – and before we realize it, we are at that next season, wishing we were back in the last one. Take a moment and breathe in the moment you are in.
Today, I am providing you with a free Daily To-Do List. I pray that this will help you keep focused on what must be done today so that you can take time to focus on what really matters!
