I want to keep Christ in Christmas. Not just in the word, but in my heart. If I am honest, I love the sparkle of the lights and the excitement of getting prepared for the day. If I am even more honest, I don’t always keep my heart ready for Christmas. This year, I have decided that I won’t allow the hustle and bustle to get in the way of my focus.
The scripture writing challenge for December is going to help us keep our hearts and minds focused on Christ. We are going to write and meditate on scripture each day so that our hearts might be ready. Advent is a season of waiting- and we need to return our hearts to a place where we are waiting with anticipation for the return of Christ, just as he came the first time.
This isn’t just for kids- this idea of Advent. It is for adults too. It is easy for all of us- Mommas and kiddos – to lose focus this time of year. So, take some time and write scripture out with your kids.
This month, we are going to focus on the Joy we have in Jesus. We won’t just write the Christmas story – we are going to be reminded to really look for our joy this Christmas, and to remember that Joy is found in Jesus Christ!

Just the Verses:
Are you looking to write down these verses in your own journal? Many people do that! If you are looking for just the verses, download this one sheet- and you will have them all in one place!
I am so excited to study this topic of Joy in Jesus with you! I think it is going to put our hearts on the right focus this year!
Be sure to come back in the coming days for my Advent Reading plan and activity pages for kids. Also – our Women of Christmas study begins December 1 – and I promise, this is one you won’t want to miss!
