What is faith? What do we place our faith in? Where do we find faith? How do we grow our faith?
Faith. It is the key to our relationships with God- yet so many people don’t know much about what faith truly is. What does the Bible say about faith? This month, we are going to dig deep and find out.
Why should we study faith?
Faith isn’t something that is taught – it is caught.
I believe this statement to be true. We learn a lot of knowledge, and even gain understanding and wisdom – but faith takes more than just reading and learning. It goes much deeper than that. Faith is something we catch as we learn. It is something that comes through experience. The disciples were often in a place where their faith was increased- not during a time of teaching, but through situations that they found themselves in.
I think of the times that my own faith has grown – and although there are always passages of scripture that line up with my times of growth, it is usually more through the experience- and the way that God shows Himself faithful, that truly have sprung my growth spurt!
So, why study it?
We should study faith because God’s Word should be the authority of every area of our life.
So, you shouldn’t just base your faith on experience or feeling- but by lining those things up with the very words of God.
This month, we are going to tackle this deep topic- and we are going to define and understand that word by looking at it through scripture.
