Valentine Day is almost upon us, and these fun holidays are a great time to include hands on learning – especially for those young learners! My daughter is counting down every day (it might help that her birthday is the day before!) I have been using the upcoming holiday as an opportunity- it provides many teachable moments! With that in mind, I wanted to just share this great resource with you – totally for free – forever!
This printable pack is super simple. There is a matching game- that you could also use as sorting mats to have children sort conversation heart candy! There is a handwriting sheet (which we are using as spelling words next week). Laminate that same sheet and use dry erase markers on it! A word search – which my daughter LOVES! Lastly, there is a simple adding activity.
This pack is geared toward preschool children (who could do all of this with help) up through second grade (which it would be great for review!)
Don’t forget some of the other great Valentine’s Day resources that we have here on our site:
This is also a great month to teach children how to write a friendly letter. Each day for the next week, my daughter is writing some of her homeschool friends in other states! She is getting very good at the 5 parts of a friendly letter, and actually learning what to say. Letter writing is a lost art- and this is a great time to teach our little ones about it!
I would love to hear some of your favorite things to do with your little Valentines!
