Our words. Our actions. They convey our hearts, our emotions, and tell so much about what we value. What we choose to invest in, what we are passionate about.
Have you ever found yourself replaying in your mind what someone else has said to you? You can hear their voice as each word is said. Maybe you can see their facial expressions and hand motions, too.
Maybe those words stir up in our hearts emotions that bring peace and love. Or maybe you wish they would have been phrased to reflect more kindness or an extra measure of patience.
We live in a society in which you can find songs that sing out lyrics filled with passion and emotion. Some we are drawn to because the words reflect our hearts and the tune becomes catchy. Soon, we are humming and singing the words ourselves. We associate the song with a specific mood, life event, or person.
The same is true of the words we hear from others. What people say resonates within us and our minds record their words and emotions. When we are in situations that remind us of that person, the playback of their words begin inside.
We remember the times when someone extended patient words to us and gave us grace. Those words encourage our hearts and give opportunities to grow and learn, in a loving environment.
What kind of words do you want people to record of you? Will it be words that are filled with patience and kindness? Will they be encouraging, building others us with the same kind of love God showed us?
Love is patient, Love is Kind.
May our words and actions be examples to others of the love we have been shown by our Father in Heaven. As our own words are recorded on the hearts of those around us, may they be patient words of love and kindness.
Imprinting Him with my life,
