Tonight, I am sitting in my bed. All is quiet in my home and around me. My children are sleeping soundly in their beds. I have no fear of anyone barging in my house, and holding us at a gun length. Sadly, however, that isn’t the case all around the world. Tonight, many people are being persecuted – and even martyred – for their faith in Jesus Christ. Today, we are going to talk about what are role is for those who are persecuted.
Today, we look at a passage like James 5:10-11, where the Word of God shares that many will be rewarded for their perseverance during persecution. Many of the prophets and people of the Bible endured persecution. I don’t think I ever have. I know that there have been times bad things – things I didn’t like – have happened to me because of my faith. Not getting picked for a team, not being the girl asked to the dance, being called the “good girl”. Those things are real for those of us who are blessed to live where religious freedom is a blessing. However, today, I don’t want to write a lot of words on any specific verse like I normally do. I want to leave you with the words of scripture, let them speak for themseleves, and ask you to join me in prayer and fasting for those around the world. Feel free to stand boldly by leaving a prayer in the comments below.
